Screening tests have shown to reduce breast cancer mortality by almost 30% when performed on women without signs or symptoms. There are several screening tests:

Breast self-examination
Breast ultrasound
Mammogram

Signs and
Symptoms

A lump or nodule in the breast or armpit.
Irritation or swelling on the skin of the breast.
Redness or peeling on the nipple area.
Any change in size or shape of the breast.
Stabbing pain in any part of the breast.
A bloody-type discharge from the nipple.
Sporadic retraction of the nipple.
Increased skin thickness or breast swelling.

Management of premalignant lesions.
Biopsy and wire guided excision biopsy.
Breast preserving surgery.
Total Mastectomy + Sentinel Lymph Node +/- Immediate Reconstruction.
Nipple Preserving Mastectomy + Sentinel Lymph Node + Immediate Reconstruction.
