Head and neck tumors make up for almost 10% of all cancers worldwide. The most common is thyroid cancer, which can be promptly detected by ultrasound with a high cure rate.

According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), the mortality of 1,890 cases per year is estimated worldwide resulting from this type of cancer.

Oral Cavity Cancer: lip, tongue, and gums.
Salivary Gland Cancer.
Head and neck cancer of unknown origin.

Signs and symptoms

A persistent lump, nodule, or lymph node in the neck that does not heal
after 2 weeks
Persistent hoarseness and voice change
Dysphagia or swallowing problems
Persistent mouth or nose bleeding

Risk Factors

Tobacco and alcohol consumption
Human Papillomavirus infection (HPV)
History of radiation to head and neck
Lesions in the mouth or tongue that resemble an infection
White patches or spots on the inside of the mouth or tongue that don’t heal after two weeks.
